Life happens, and when it does, it can be expensive! That’s why MONSU Caulfield is offering financial grants to undergraduate Caulfield students experiencing financial hardship.
These grants are designed to help students meet their essential living and study needs, and provide relief for those stressful one-time emergency situations.
A one-time grant. No need to pay it back. No matter how big or small your situation is. We are just here to help.
What is Financial Hardship?
Financial hardship is when a student temporarily does not have enough income or resources to cover their essential living and study costs.
This may impact a student's health (physical or mental), wellbeing or ability to continue studying.
How does it work?

Fill out the Financial Grants Application form

You will need to provide:

Your student details

Please provide a personal statement (up to 250 words) describing your current financial situation, and the specific item/s you are applying for.

Proof of enrolment (screenshot of WES enrolment)

Evidence of Financial Hardship (A bank statement showing the last 30 days of your accounts)

Any other specific evidence or documentation based on grant type

Our Financial Grants team will review your application within 3 – 5 business days

If your application is approved, you will be provided with either a digital gift card or store credit (Printing @ The Workshop grant only)
Who can apply?
To apply, you must be…

Be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at the Monash University Caulfield Campus. Students on a period of intermission are not eligible.

Be experiencing financial hardship

Meet the specific eligibility requirements for the grant you are applying for
Types of Grants
- Food & Grocery Assistance — For groceries and essential personal care items (Up to $100 per grant)
- Study Essentials — For essential equipment, materials & textbooks (Up to $250 per grant)
- Printing at The Workshop — For printing and services that forms part of an assessment (Up to $200 per grant)
- Placement & Internship — For travel & accommodation costs as the direct result of a placement or internship (Up to $500 per grant)
- Medical & Wellbeing — Essential medical & wellbeing costs (Up to $300 per grant)
- Emergency Situation — Supporting the unexpected challenge or emergency (Up to $500 per grant)
- Personal Safety —Supporting students who may be victims of violence (Up to $500 per grant)
- Financial Hardship — For essential living expenses (Up to $400 per grant)

Grants do not require repayment, like a loan does

This program is funded by Student Services and Amenities Fees

All information provided by students for the purposes of a grant application is confidential and will not be disclosed to any third party.

In accordance with MONSU Caulfield Privacy Policies, information provided by students for the purpose of a grant application will be retained by MONSU Caulfield for a period of 7 years.
