Workshop Team Member

Workshop is hiring some casuals to join our friendly team!

The Workshop is a not-for-profit print and finishing service run by MONSU Caulfield, that provides access to affordable and high-quality print services. The Workshop is also a one-stop shop for all information regarding MONSU Caulfield, such as general enquiries. 

We are a small team with design and business backgrounds providing print services to best showcase our client’s work.

Student Rights & Support Officer 

MONSU Caulfield is the Undergraduate Student Union at Monash University Caulfield Campus. We service over 9000 students by providing free services, programs and support, as well as events, activities and representation, to ensure students have the best possible university experience.

 

About the role…

MONSU Caulfield is seeking a Student Rights & Support Officer (SRO) who will work as an advocate, providing confidential advice and support to undergraduate Monash University students on all matters concerning academic and administrative issues.

MONSU Caulfield is dedicated to providing excellent support services to students. This role ensures the delivery of high-level advocacy support, supporting students to have a successful academic experience and improving their overall university experience.

 

  • $65,000 - $70,00 salary

  • Part-time position (4 days per week)

  • 12-month fixed-term contract  

  • Flexible work arrangements are available at some times during the year.

All candidates must have full Australian Working Rights, COVID-19 Vaccinations, and a current Working with Children Check.  A current Australian driver's licence would be advantageous. 

This position will have an expected start date in August 2024. 

 

What your work week looks like…

  • Provide confidential advice and support to undergraduate Monash University students on all matters concerning academic and administrative issues.

  • Prepare detailed student case notes.

  • Support and collaborate with elected student representatives.

  • Assist in developing networks with key stakeholders, including university committees, students and staff.

  • Assist in the preparation of submissions in response to university decisions.

  • Coordinate, implement and participate in identified MONSU Caulfield projects and programs. 

 

About you…

  • Have an understanding of social issues affecting tertiary students or educational institutions. 

  • Hold strong written, verbal and listening communication skills.

  • Passionate about supporting and working with young adults.

  • You are a valuable team player who loves to work with others but can work autonomously.

  • Take responsibility for your performance, set clear goals and ensure they are met.

  • Want to work in a diverse environment with people from various backgrounds.

  • Have a degree qualification.

  • 1 year of demonstrated advocacy experience within the education or community sector.

 

Bonus points! 

You have…

  • Knowledge of student organisations or not-for-profit community groups

  • Understanding of tertiary sector legislation, university policies and procedures.
