Event Coordinator

At a glance

  • $68,500 - $75,000 salary

  • Full-time position

What your work week looks like

  • Creating and innovating dynamic events for primarily 18-23-year-old undergraduate students, both on and off-campus

  • Supporting and coordinating all events under MONSU Caulfield, including end-to-end management, planning and execution of events

  • Providing expert advice to student representatives and student club executives on all things events

  • Working closely with the Creative and Communications team, as well as the General Manager

  • Build and improve relationships with customers, key suppliers and partners

  • Adhering to university policy and procedure regarding risk management of events


 

About you

You…

  • Think creatively. You aren’t afraid to try something new, initiate, innovate, and think outside the box

  • Have a passion for leading, supporting and working with young adults

  • Feel comfortable working autonomously and making the big decisions when you need to, but are also a team player and enjoy working with others

  • Expect the unexpected. Leaning on your event expertise, you use your agility to take initiative and find solutions on-the-go

  • Have strong communication skills, and can clearly articulate information to others, both written and verbally

  • Want to work in a diverse environment with people from a range of backgrounds

  • Have proven experience in the event industry (ideally 3 years)

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in business, marketing, event management or similar

  • Experience in the tertiary sector

  • Proven success in ideating and running events 

  • An understanding of university student associations

  • An interest and insight into youth and student culture

  • Providing governance and regulatory support and advice

  • Ensuring these cohorts are representing Monash Caulfield students to the highest possible standard

  • Developing and delivering informative induction and training programs for student leaders, clubs and volunteers

  • Develop and coordinate the MONSU Crew student volunteer program

  • Working closely with the Creative and Communications team, as well as the General Manager

  • Adhering to university policy and procedure regarding risk management of programs and events

 

About you

You…

  • Are confident in your ideas and abilities and not afraid to think outside the box

  • Take responsibility for your team and your actions, and clearly set and meet goals and expectations
