Why Volunteer for MONSU?
The MONSU Volunteer program allows all students to become engaged members of the Monash Caulfield community. Our volunteers enjoy opportunities for professional and personal development as well as the chance to meet fellow students and have a break from their studies.
By volunteering your time for MONSU and for Monash, you will gain skills and experience that will enhance your university experience and assist you in your future career. Not only this, but you will be officially thanked and recognised for your time and effort.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
Campus Tour Guides
If a faculty or Monash group requests a campus tour for their students, we ask the MONSU volunteers who are involved in the ASK Me program to provide their peers with a campus tour experience.
Events & Activities
Several departments within MONSU and Monash often require the assistance of volunteers for the smooth running of their events held on and off campus. Tasks can include helping with set up and pack up, manning information booths and handing out pamphlets.
MONSU runs a wide range of events & activities such as:
- Mid-Week Meet
- AXP Party I & II
- Safe n' Sexy
- Moonlight Cinema
- Full Moon Party
- Party Cruise
- Social Justice Events
- Stress Less Day
- Sporting Competitions
- Breakfast Club
- First Year Party
- Caulfield Awards Night
- International Day
- Student Survival Week
MONSU heavily relies on volunteers to distribute posters throughout the campus. Volunteers are given a weekly shift during semester, and their time is invaluable to maintain student engagement with MONSU events and services. Putting up posters is our most effective method for catching the attention of students who may not have previously known about MONSU.
We are looking for volunteer photographers to help us capture our MONSU events and activities held on and off campus. Volunteers are also required to take photos of club and Monash events held on campus. Photos will be published on the MONSU Facebook page and on our website. Volunteer photographers can use this experience for their portfolio and assist us in capturing the students experience at Caulfield.
MONSU Tax Help
The MONSU Tax Help service relies on volunteers to assist students with lodging their tax return. All volunteers are trained by the Australian Tax Office and the program runs from the 1st of July to the 30th of October each year.
