Best Newcomer Award

This award is for a club who has shown exceptional potential throughout the year. This has been reflected in their dedication to planning for future growth and consistent student involvement.

The Peninsula winner is: BSOR Social Club

"They've done pretty well not having any BSOR club in the past and finishing the year with close to 90 members and good turn outs at all of their 2010 events =D"

"Hardworking team has produced fantastic results this year, involving students through the array of functions held with member discounts at each to give value to all members. The functions have all been really fun with high attendances, students all having a great time."

"The BSOR Social Club is just going to grow bigger and better over the next few years. They overcame adversity at the start of the year when they had to completely change their committee a week before Orientation. They succeeded in signing up almost 100 members. They have also consistently involved their students in many social activities this year."

The Caulfield winner is: Monash Chinese Debating Team

"This club started up during the Summer Holidays before the start of Sem 1 2010 and since then, they have signed up over 120 members! Their members span across from undergraduate and postgraduate students and even Monash College Students."

"They have sought sponsorship successfully from external companies and they have also provided their members with plenty of social and debating functions. They even represented Monash University at a world wide Debating Competition that was held during the mid year break in Malaysia!"
